Job Description

Vision & Values

  • Fully understand and embrace Six Senses company vision and values and its application in all tasks associated with the host’s duty.
  • Adhere to all Six Senses brand standards ensuring successful communication across all levels of the operation.

General

  • Identify training and development needs within the resort through training needs analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with other managers.
  • Design and development programs based on the resort's needs; ensure that statutory training requirements are met.
  • Prepare a training plan for the resort (quarterly/annual) based on systematic research and needs analysis.
  • Build up a team of departmental trainers for every section and drive and monitor/supervise operational training.
  • Plan, develop and organize training sessions and produce appropriate training materials for in-house courses.
  • Manage the delivery of training and development programs and deliver training in a manner that is easily understandable to trainees and in a way that motivates them.
  • Monitor and review the progress of trainees by using questionnaires and by having discussions with managers .
  • Continually amend the training and development programs as necessary, in order to adapt to the changes that occur in the work environment .
  • Help hosts such as line managers and departmental trainers to solve specific training problems either on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
  • Keep up to date with developments in training by reading relevant journals, going to meetings and attending courses.
  • Use technology such as computers to produce some of the training materials.
  • Organize and liaise with Department Heads concerning new employee orientation and induction.
  • Implement and follow up on training activities.
  • Maintain and update all training records, reports.
  • Provide updated information on relevant external courses for hosts.
  • Arrange training programs for trainees from local and overseas hotel schools.
  • Work closely with Departments Heads and Assistant HR Manager to get feedback and monitor thevtraining progress.
  • Assist senior management in developing training concepts for management levels.
  • Respect and ensure uncompromised care for the environment.
  • Complete any other duty assigned to them by their manager/supervisor.
  • Arrive on time in full uniform in accordance with the company grooming guideline.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or degree from a recognized catering institute or university.
  • Certificate in training or coaching.

Work Experience: 

  • Three or more years progressive managerial experience in a luxury lifestyle brand.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable.

Technical Skills: 

  • Good knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Good general education with special industrial training in various departments of a Hotel.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made.
  • Motivating, developing and directing people as they work.
  • Identifying the best people for the job
  • Understanding work related documents.
  • Bringing other together and trying to reconcile differences.
  • Managing one’s time and the time of others.
  • Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills required.
  • English with the ability to communicate clearly in the local dialect
  • Knowledge and abilities in other languages would be beneficial.
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate.

Remarks

  • Standard workweek is Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Host expected and required to work weekends as needed and evenings as needed to successfully execute role.
